將空想轉為行動
升大三的那年暑假,我去了某間企業進行暑期實習,
遇到了一個很有想法的學長,他那年正好打算申請台大的交換學生計劃。他跟我分析了許多當交換學生能獲得的寶貴經驗,且學校交換風氣非常盛行,也跟我分享了幾個同學出去交換的心得。我也開始將空想轉為行動,
積極地閱讀學校的交換規則及找尋過去交換過的學長姐詢問更進一步的資訊。
渴望探索偌大的世界
我愛看課外書,所以想親自去看看Sagan筆下的法國海岸,感受法國人的浪漫及不被羈絆的性格;我喜歡喝咖啡,我想親自踩過花都巴黎的市街,
坐在街頭曬得到陽光的露天咖啡座品嚐香濃咖啡;此外,因為嚮往去國外工作,我也希望自己能趁這個機會學習如何跟不同國家的人合作,打開心胸接納不同文化帶來的衝擊,調整自己的處世態度,以增加未來的國際競爭力。

UTT是一所位於法國巴黎東邊小城鎮Troyes的科技大學,裡頭有幾乎50%的學生來自世界各地,只有50%的學生是法國人,所以這所學校非常重視國際學生,也常常會舉辦給國際學生參加的活動。
剛到那時正接近清晨六點,天色仍是黑的,巴黎這座城市正飄著雪,沒看過雪的我望著一片片飄落的雪花出了神,我簡直不敢相信我即將在這個夢幻國度度過接下來的半年。
我在學期正式開學前一個月先提早到UTT上intensive course,包含一門法語課和一門專業科目(project management),每天從早上八點上課到下午五點,十分規律而充實。第一個月那裡的一切對我而言都非常新鮮,
許多挫折感都被興奮的心情掩蓋,大夥兒一起去辦各種文件,去家樂福採買食材及廚具,跟著學校出去校外教學,每天都有新鮮趣事發生。
適應截然不同的生活
蜜月期沒有過太久,隨著生活逐漸步上正軌,有些問題慢慢地浮現。除了每天要花很多時間自行烹煮準備三餐,在正式開學前必須跑許多瑣碎地行政手續:去銀行開戶、申請當地的手機號碼、辦公車卡等。
歐洲的物價比台灣貴很多,還得學會精打細算、控制開支才能安然度過半年的生活。
雖然我到達法國前已學過一些基礎法語,但實際上到那裡生活之後,發現先前所學還是太不夠用,加上大部份法國人都不說英文,有時去辦理一些行政手續例如火車票退票,語言不通成了一種障礙。
在課堂上有大量需要與國際學生一起做計畫的機會,彼此的文化差異也讓我們在合作時碰了不少釘子。但我沒有被擊敗,我在異地更努力調整自己的腳步,
適應截然不同的文化,學習與國際學生相處、解決衝突,也學著過真正獨立的生活。
因為每個國家的文化都不太一樣,做事的方法、態度也會跟著不同,若先前沒有與國際學生合作的經驗,剛開始可能會不太適應,甚至覺得厭惡。不過要記得,當覺得沮喪時,一定要抱持樂觀心態,
告訴自己若克服了這些困難一定可以成長很多!加油!
四處旅行.流浪探索
待生活穩定之後,我趁著沒課的日子,開始背著背包四處旅行。這半年來,我共花了共四十七天的時間,走了八個國家,二十六個城市;嘗試過各種形式的交通工具:火車、巴士、輕軌列車、水上巴士、小船等等;
攻頂三座教堂的頂峰,走過四個國家的海岸,學了多四種語言的打招呼語,參觀好幾十間的美術館,吸收了無數歐洲文化的精華。
當然旅行也不盡然都碰到美好的事,我也曾經因為半夜下錯站,在零度的天氣睡在一個暖氣快要壞掉的破舊火車站、曾經在半夜被趕出機場,睡在機場外頭一整晚,也差點晚上要露宿荷蘭街頭。但我想這些流浪都使我變得更加堅強及勇敢。
半年的歐洲生活並不如一般旅行輕鬆,但我發現每一次遇到問題時,只要能夠靜下心來積極找尋解決方法,就算最初摸索的時間比較多,最後一定能夠圓滿解決,這是我半年交換生涯的最大成長。
我是個有完美主義的女生,剛開始旅行,也非常要求自己預先做好完美的規劃,但幾次下來發現這樣身心都疲憊。當時我仔細思考旅行的意義,發現旅行並不是作業,不需要做一張checklist一一檢視,有時候用心體會,
會發現那些最動人的,不是壯闊的美景建築,而是在旅途中遇到的一個人,一句話,或一抹親切的微笑!盡情享受旅行的美好吧!
錯過畢業典禮但不後悔
人生就是一連串充滿選擇的過程,在做任何決定之前,要充分的跟自己的心好好溝通,一旦決定就往前看勇敢邁步向前,這是我的原則。
我選擇在大四下前往法國交換,意味著我將錯過畢業典禮,大學的畢業典禮只有一次,而同樣的,在大四下去法國當交換學生的機會也只有一次。經過一番掙扎,我最後還是選擇用半年的時間在異鄉度過,藉由各式的衝擊,
讓自己更加成長茁壯。因為我的心裡知道,這半年去法國交換的時光,那一篇篇講不完的歐陸歷險記,將是會被我一輩子珍藏在心底最美好回憶。

February 24th , 2014, Indonesian Student Association or PPI – NCU cooperated with Office of International Affairs (OIA) of National Central University held the Indonesian Culture Day 2014 event with the themes: Indonesia :
One Land For A Thousand Dreams.

This event was aimed to introduce the local heritage of Indonesia which is packed with the traditional performance, traditional foods, role play of Indonesian colonialism history and the choir of traditional medley songs.
The idea of this occasion initiated with the willingness of the Indonesian student in NCU to show their ability and skill of representing the culture that they have from their home-country which is the identity of the
hometown where they came from.
Initially, the committee only provided the traditional foods for the first 50 participant who finish the registration. But after 2 days publication via poster,
the list of participants who wants follow this event reached 100 students, then the committee provided more foods in order to help all students to taste the uniqueness of Indonesian foods.
There is also an Indonesian booth which provided a lot of information of Indonesia, such as Indonesian language, the pictures of ethnic tribes in Indonesia, Indonesian traditional and Muslim clothes,
Indonesian traditional games, the information of Muslim, and so much more.
The event was opened by 2 hosts: one delivered in English, and the other translated it into Chinese language. The welcoming speech also delivered by Ms. Kelly and Ms. Veronica, as a representative of OIA-NCU,
who also feel really amazed of the great work of Indonesian students in presenting this event. As the symbol of gratitude of the huge supports from OIA for this event,
the Indonesian student present a certificate of appreciation and the traditional gift from Toraja, Indonesia which hand in from the president of PPI-NCU, Fithriani Iznita to the representative of OIA-NCU, Ms. Kelly.
When the first dance hits the floor, the big applause was heard from the participants. This is the likok pulo dance which came from Aceh province, Indonesia.
This dance performed by seven female as dancers and one female as singer who sang the Acehnese song. This dance was successfully riveting the attention of the audience through the very quick moves in this dance.
The participants even went so much more attractive when the role play began, the actions of the Indonesian student as the actors and actress make the participants laugh of loud in this hall.
The feeling of pleasure and satisfaction is also reflected from the committee faces when they heard the comment from the audience. One of the local student even in personally come to ask the committee,
“When will you make another Indonesian event? I will love to see more performances from Indonesia.” It does really make all the Indonesian students feel thankful of the questions.
