觀和沉思的時刻。此次展覽不僅集結他最具代表性的顛峰之作，也相當難得地首次展出他在

高中時期的作品。這些捕捉小城生活即景的照片固然樸實簡潔，卻已顯露攝影家擅長從平淡

現實中，提煉出殊異美感的風格特質。這半世紀以來各階段的作品，交織成一個完整豐富的

影像脈絡，提供我們一次飽覽其創作歷程的珍貴機會。

The photography of Chang Chao-Tang has been renowned for its sharp and forceful style, and his achievement

 is a milestone in the modern photography of Taiwan. Through photographing many real yet strange landscapes

 and objects, his works profoundly explore the absurdity and repression of human existence, and also offer the

viewers moments of contemplation and reflection. This exhibition not only assembles the works most representative

 of his accomplishment, but unveils his photographs made in the high school years for the first time. The early

photographs capture the daily life of small towns in a simple manner, yet reveals Chang’s remarkable ability to

extract a distinct beauty from the pedestrian reality. Half a century of works from each phase of his career interweave

 a rich and complete texture of images which provide us a precious opportunity to relish an artist’s lifetime oeuvre.
